Yesterday was Thanksgiving and like most here in Canada I was spending my time with family, too busy to log on ande give my own perspective of the season. So here I am today with the many things I'm thankful for each and every day:
- I'm thankful for my family, my 2 darling children, my parents, all of my extended family, and the few true friends I have in this world.
- I'm thankful for our health. As some of the older in the fam become more fragile over time, I am thankful they are still here today and I look forward to the many happy tomorrows that will follow.
- I'm thankful for peace. For my own peace of mind and heart that have come along with the so many changes in our lives, for the peace that resides here in Canada and other countries not stricken by terroristic acts and violence, and I'm thankful that even in those many places were peace has yet to come there is still the possibility that they will one day know what peace is and enjoy it's many blessings sometime soon.
- I'm thankful for love. The love I have for my children and family is an undying devotion to their every whim. As I tend each need and dream with a firm but gentle hand, I'm able to watch each of them blossom into such wonderful loving people. It fills my own heart with love to see my good intentions spill over into their lives.
- I'm thankful for the new. The many new beginings that have come these past few months, and some of the new chances that have been given in a few other personal matters.
- I am thankful for healing. As many things happen in life, some traumas, some illness, and some broken promises are mended, I see now how important the healing process is. I'm thankful for this obersvation and healing in itself.
- I'm thankful for hope. Hope is what keeps us plugging away through the harder times in life, without it we are lost and destined to failure. Hope is what makes all things possible, without it even the greatest of abilities goes unused and unseen.
- I'm thankful for strength. The physical strength that was needed during the move, the emotional strength that gets me out of bed each morning, and the inner strength that gives my life the breath of vibrancy it needs to best the me & mother I can be.
- I'm thankful for patients and understanding. While patients is not my strong sute it is through understanding that I am able to reflect and learn 'why' or 'how' things occur; I find this gives me more perspective on patients as a whole.
- I'm thanful for forgiveness. Again tied into understanding, forgiveness weather it is your own act of forgiving or being forgiven by someone else, is a very cleansing process that gives way to many new things and often greater things to come. I'm thankful for being forgiven for many things, but I'm also thankful for the ability to forgive and to truely mean it when I do.
- I'm thankful for education, not just my own but also that of my children, who are learning new things and improving old skills every day both at home and in school.
- I'm thankful for the basic nessisities in life and having them all. Many of us don't realize how truly blessed we are to have things like food, shelter, clothes, health care, heat, hyro, and water, but it's all these (the most basic of things) that give us the ability to live healthy, productive lives. And we are truly blessed to have them all- God willing.
-I'm thankful for faith. Weather it be a faith in 'God' or something like it, we all have faith in something/someone; that coupled with hope gives us a sence of inner peace and strength to carry on through life each and every day. Having faith in a 'higher power' and mankind alike is, I beleive, the pathway to true fultillment in life.
We all of us around the world, have many things to be thankful for each and every day of our lives. And while sometimes these things many become obscurred by anger, greed, selfishness or pride, it when we stop and realize how much we have that we are truly rich in spirit and in our lives/ourselves.
Weather it's thanksgiving for you or not, I invite you to reflect on what you're thankful for and apreciate the many blessings in your life.
Peace & Happy Thanksgiving
~Me
